Why it matters here
Support for special educational needs often falls short, and many parents in Uttlesford travel miles each day to get their children the education they need. Schools should be well resourced, so that no child loses out because of where they live.
Village schools are central to our communities, and we will protect and improve them. We will also promote pre-school and outdoor education, and getting to secondary school on foot, by bike or by bus.
We will champion adult education, which has been run down, leaving people fewer chances to retrain as the economy changes.
