Priority 4 of 6

Clean energy and local jobs

Cheap community energy for local people, and new green jobs and businesses.

What we will work for

  • Cheap community energy for local people
  • New jobs and businesses in a thriving green economy
  • Solar panels on all available roofs and above car parks
  • Developing education, training and apprenticeship opportunities

Why it matters here

Getting to net zero can bring new jobs and industries, more control over our own energy, and a healthier world.

We want investment to stay local and help a green economy grow here. Sustainable industries will bring secure, well-paid jobs for people now and in years to come, and make us less dependent on highly polluting aviation.

We will promote the grants available for cutting energy use and for community-led energy projects, so that people see the benefit of clean power in their bills.

Let’s make hope normal again

We are a small local party, so every member and every pound counts.

Joining or donating helps us tell people in every town and village that there is a Green to vote for.

Join takes you to join.greenparty.org.uk, the national party’s own site.
